Am I crazy?  It definitely says “slut” next to they score of the Rangers game.
What does that mean?

‘Slut’ is Swedish for ‘Final’. It’s not pronounced as slut, I think it’s pronounced ‘Sloot’, but yeah. You’re watching a stream from Sweden. I watch it too.

Okay, so this pisses me off a bit.

Please read and discuss this ‘review’ and comments I found on facebook about the Hunger Games series. Is anyone else just frustrated and pissed the hell off as me? It’s like they’re missing the whole premise of the book…

“”I read Book One of the The Hunger Games and was revolted by the premise: 24 children forced to murder each other. Especially egregious because the books are written for people age 12 or so and up. Now I am even more revolted by the hooplah over the movie and its presentation of a strong femal protagonist who survives the Games, as if she is a role model for girls? Spoilers — she winds up a psychopath; everyone she ever loved is dead, and there’s no clear indication that her struggle made any difference. Role model? Strong female protagonist? It is scaring me that this propaganda is getting such a rousing response in the media and among young women.”

“We’re all falling into her trap. She’s relying on the notoriety of her premise to incite curiosity in teens and controversy in adults. Like the movie “The Last Temptation of Christ”, it sells tickets to a cultural phenomenon, not a film. And we only increase the allure of it to kids who are dying to see what’s so wicked about it.”

“Think? I have not heard ANYONE in the media condemn it at all regarding its morality or lack thereof. All I hear is what a great story, what a powerful young woman, what a wonderful film … After all Christians did to condemn Harry Potter, I have not heard any Christian leaders say a peep about this. I am trying to figure out why nobody seems to see the evil inherent in the stories…”

Ahahahaha WHELP
TIME TO BUY COFFEES AT STARBUCKS ERRYDAY NOW

I don’t drink coffee. I guess I can buy their hot chocolate.

Just another reason why I love Starbucks.

And suddenly I don’t feel as guilty paying Starbucks for overpriced coffee…

Y’ALL BETTER BE DRINKING STARBUCKS OR HAVE STARBUCKS MUGS AND STUFF

Even though Starbucks is seriously overpriced in the Netherlands (5 euros for a medium sorry I mean grande soy caramel macchiato, come on!), this is an initiative I’ll gladly support! Next time I’m near a Starbucks I’ll drink a cup to this :)

Drink ALL the Starbucks!

Eight female state senators in Georgia walked out of the Senate chambers on Wednesday to protest two bills that hinder access to abortion and contraceptives. All eight female democratic senators left the chambers together after two bills they oppose passed the Republican-led Senate. From Atlanta’s WXIA, the legislation:

  • Prohibits state employees from using state health benefits to pay for abortions
  • Does not allow employees of private religious institutions to demand that their insurance policies pay for contraceptives

“We stood together to protest what we feel is absolutely a war on women here in Georgia and we want to sound the alert to Georgians,” said Sen. Nan Orrick.

Republican state senator Joshua McKoon said of the legislation, “What I would say is the war that’s being waged is on a religious minority in this country that has strong beliefs that are protected by the First Amendment.”

The bills now heads to the House, where both are expected to pass.

The senators who walked out: Sen. Gloria ButlerSen. Gale Davenport, Sen. Nan Orrock, Sen. Freddie Powell SimsSen. Donzella James, Sen. Miriam Paris, Sen. Valencia Seay and Sen. Horacena Tate. Looks like I’ll be spending my Friday night emailing these senators to thank them for taking a stance on an incredibly important issue.

A religious minority? More like a bunch of assholes taking away the rights of women over their own bodies.

If I’d ask you, who is Joseph Kony, you wouldn’t know. You should. And that’s why I’m going to tell you about him.
Joseph Kony considers himself as a good Christian. He abducts kids, little girls go in prostitution, little boys become kid soldiers and are forced to do horrible things, things a kid isn’t supposed to do. Neither is an adult, no one is. He started the LRA, Lord’s Resistance Army. 20.000 kids have been kidnapped, this needs to stop. And that’s why we need to Make Kony Famous. Let the world know about the horrible things he does, and the thousands of children and parents suffering.
So come together, at the April the 20th. That is the day, we will cover the night. People in all kind of cities, all over the world meet at sundown & cover the city with posters and stickers of Joseph Kony. To Make Kony Famous. If you want to help these kids and parents, cover the night at 4/20/2012.
